| Sagging Couch
The springs in my couch don't have as much resistance and when you sit on the couch you tend to sink in. The cushions have compacted some as well, but I think the bigger issue is with the springs. I'm guessing this because if you sit on the couch without the cushions, the side I use most often sinks in quite a bit more than the side rarely sat on.
The manufacturer claims to have a lifetime warranty on the springs, but also notes that I'd have to take it back to the place I purchased it and then they'll fix it. Since purchase, I've moved from CA to AZ, so a quick trip to the place of purchase is out of the question.
So is there a way that I can firm these puppies back up? I was thinking of maybe something that goes between the couch and the cushion. Any suggestions are helpful. -- This Space for Rent... |

Another idea also, the guarantee may have some contingencies for people that move. |

| reply to nightdesigns Will switching cushions help any?
I also have put a board under an old couch cushion, helped the sinking (distributed weight to all springs) but wasn't as comfortable.
Only jury-rig thing I can think that might work if you don't have other options is to build a small box/frame and place it under that part of the couch. Would help if it is not really the springs but the rope (or whatever they support the far bottom with). If the whole bottom sags down with weight on it, then a support box under it would serve as a base for the springs, and may not look great but should solve it. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Yes you can, depeding if you have required skills, tools, know how and time. Since they are just like most things are repairable (if worth it).
my guess is that a spring came loose or a ribbon. But to make sure you need to flip it on its back, take the bottom sheet cover off, and take a peek.
May have to remove part of the couch cloth to repair but again if you can handle the job then you can fix it.
I have reupholster two couches, one lay-z boy, and some chairs. Wasn't that hard. I used an ice pic and needle nose pliers to remove old staples. Of course, stappler, ruler/measuring tape and scissors to finish job.
Drawing example of some couch spring that are held by thick gage staples and ribbon.
