| Moving service and adding new service?
Does anyone have any experience with moving the dslextreme service from one address to another?
Currently I have the 3000~6000 service at address X and I will probably move to address Y in a month or so. I am in an contract right now and I was wondering if it's possible to move from X to Y with the 'Move your service' option on the dslx page while keeping the same promo price after the move?
Thanks for reading |

| Hi Danza,
I have not placed a move order for a customer in awhile but the last time I did it gave an option to move to the new location and keep the same price but it required starting the contract over. There was a different option for moving and not starting the contract over but with a 60 dollar move order fee.
Keep in mind that you may have to switch to a different plan/speed if the new location does not qualify for the 3000-6000 plan or if the new location is serviced by a different back end provider(like moving from an ATT area to a Verizon area). -- Zak

If the move is within the same CO service area with the same phone number, does the process change? Can the service be upgraded/degraded after the order depending on the line? Can the move be dated so that service at the old location remains active until sync is lost? Can the new location remain as DHCP service? Could this be added to the dslx support FAQs? |

The best way to determine what options are available to you is to go directly to the move order form in the Member section of our website at »www.dslextreme.com/Members. From there you will enter in your phone number and choose the option that applies to you including changing phone numbers, phone lines, or both.
You would sign up for a new one year contract and at this time are offered new client promotional rates at the new location. Assuming that DHCP service is available in the are and the package that you choose you would be able to stay on that service. Also assuming that you get a new phone number and a new phone line, you would be able to overlap the service. You would select the desired disconnect and reconnect due date in the ordering process.
