qworster : So, I finally got my service upgraded to HD from standard. DAMN it looks good! I'm told that since I live in L.A., I still am getting my locals from the old satellite with
MPEG-2 coding. It still looks GREAT-at least as good as direct off air does (and I don't have to get up to fiddle with the antenna every time I change channels).

I still think the DTV system that the FCC and broadcasters picked SUCKS (I should be able to pick up EVERY LA station in HD with an indoor antenna here in the middle of the city and I can't). BUT with a good outdoor or cable/satellite connection it looks quite good.
