Uploaded 1.5 TB and I haven't heard anything yet...

I've been nonstop downloading and uploading large files via uTorrent since I got the service a week ago. Not sure if they would call me or mail me something if I were over using my connection. What's the point though of having a 20Mb/20Mb connection if you can't run it as fast and as long as you want! I mean I'm paying for the service and I read through their AUP and it said nothing about soft caps. Granted they have the ability to change their policies whenever they feel like it but it would be a "bait & switch" in my eyes and the best way to lose me as a customer. I currently pay $59.99 for internet here in Elk Grove, Ca and an additional $15 for phone and plan on changing over my Dish HD to Surewest once my contract is up. I seriously hope Surewest doesn't do anything rash that would lose my business...

Yet may be the key term. If Surewest ever decides to crack down again, they would send you a letter in the mail and require you to reduce usage to 150GB/month if you want to keep service.

When Surewest did the crackdown on the top ten users they added the following to the AUP:

"From time to time, SureWest establishes guidelines that assist it in determining whether the use of its network or Internet Service by any individual non-commercial Customer is acceptable or may be considered excessive and/or burdensome. Customers whose Internet usage consistently falls outside of the parameters permitted by these guidelines for the package they have selected may be contacted by SureWest and requested either to modify their network usage activities to bring them into compliance with the guidelines or to purchase another SureWest Internet Service package designed for Customers with heavier Internet usage."

"Repeated or continued excessive use of Internet Service may lead to suspension or termination of a Customer’s account. Suspension or termination of a Customer account for any of the reasons outlined above in this section will be considered to be the result of a Customer contract breach."
