Great game except one fact. WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE MATCHMAKING! This isn't an xbox 360 I wanna join and create servers so I can play with my friends.

lol @ xbox port, if anything Valve doesn't port, that'a EA.
Matchmaking does make sense for this game, they've got work to do but that doesn't mean a game browser isn't possible.
It's Valve, they listen, they satisfy their community.
They released a patch on the SAME day the demo got released, I mean which developer does that now? |

Several times I was playing on a host that clear couldn't handle the load. |

You can still use the server browser, you just have to enable the console, and enter "openserverbrowser" without the quotes.

I'm guessing.. since it is Valve we're talking about here, will let users choose if they want to use the matchmaking option or use the good ol' server browser to join a server.
Valve hasn't let me down yet. |

I also don't like the current browser. However, the games your friends are currently in are listed on the main page - which is good. Also, they already have Left 4 Dead on the general server browser filters. It wouldn't make sense if the game wasn't available through that.
PS: I'll be running the dedicated server throughout the weekend. Feel free to jump in (find it through the DSLR group). It might get lag spikes every 3 hours or so, I caught it a few minutes ago eating up 100% of the fourth core (changed it affinity) where it only should take 10% max of the core normally. |

I have faith Valve will make it so you can have a private server with a password so your friends only can play with you. I don't mind the matchmaking at all, as long as I can choose to play with 3 other specific people together when I choose to. |

Also, I saw when you click 'Play Campaign" there was a 'Play with Friends' option. I didn't test this out as not enough were on at the time. Anyone experiment with that one? |

My friends just appear on the main menu and I can join them from there.
Apparently the end to the subway stage isn't really the end, there's more to it. This game is becoming more and more interesting. |
