Well, the Smoking Man said that as long as he was around, the Bills would never win the Superbowl. I heard he also had a grudge against the Phillies.

I think they would have to continue the game in Philly whenever that would be.

Looks like most of the fans went home, be funny if they continued the game tonight and the Phillies won it with nobody there.

On MNF they said the game is officaly delayed until tomorrow, but who knows with MNF on ESPN.

The game has been suspended. MLB will hold a press conference in 10 minutes to explain. PA announcers just told the crowd the game with resume at 8 p.m.

so it resumes at the bottom of the 6th, right?

and I swear 2 god... even nature wants to deny or prolong a philly championship... William Penn is a real curse i swear 2 god... like really?

I guess this is a 'win-win' for everybody. I sure know that I didn't want the Phillies to win us our first championship in forever with an asterisk, and FOX gets to prolong the series. Possibly even turning it into a Friday/Saturday Game 6/7 which would be a savior to their ratings.

That said, I think my latter statement is a direct reason as to why this game got extended long enough for Tampa Bay to have a shot at tying it. I've never seen a baseball game played in that type of weather over 2+ innings in my life.

It's a shame; ratings are in the trash year after year, games don't start until 8:30PM EST, and they extend over 3 hours most times easily, well beyond most reasonable youth bedtimes in America. The commercial cash cow has ruined the sport and you see it by all the empty ballfields during the summer across the nation.

Well, Selig changed the rules unbeknownst to anybody last night that would have allowed that game to have been played in its completion regardless of what happened last night. Of course!

That said, this city is fuming that MLB then allowed the Rays to have their at-bat in the top of the inning without allowing Philadelphia to have their at-bat for the inning. Pitching and playing defense in that weather is far harder than batting, and if you're changing the rules in the interest of fairness, you should extend that courtesy during the game as well.

Regardless, it's our 'pen vs. the Rays and that makes me feel warm and happy. An as I said, as if Philadelphia wasn't already an angry enough place to play, wait until they have to deal with us when this game resumes. Cover your 9-year-olds' heads everybody!

Yeah, I found that a terrible choice. Should have given Phillies an even approach for their at-bat that inning.

it's suppose to rain/snow hin philly until about 1a.m... so this thing might end up being played really late tonight or played tomorrow... and this is why baseball season should end in aug/sep
