Well, we've lost another one...

Pete Van Wieren, Braves broadcaster and Skip Caray partner announced his retirement today. First we lost Skip Caray, then Munson retired now Pete. It always seems that whoever comes next is never quite as good as who you are used to hearing, even if they are just as good (or better even.)
Pete and Skip were Braves broadcasters as long as I can remember. Enjoy your retirement Pete, you've earned it.

It sure is going to be weird not hearing Pete and Skip next year. As you said, Pete and Skip were Braves broadcasters as long as I can remember too.

I'll miss hearing him call the games, but I wish him all the best in his retirement. Thanks, Pete, for many great years and many great memories. Cheers!
