| My Dad's Visitation and Memorial
Hi All, First of all, thank you for the good thoughts and prayers and condolences for my family and I. They are much appreciated!
My dad's visitation and service could not have been more perfect. We saw people we had not seen in a long time. As we were standing and greeting friends and family, the pastor (a friend of the family's) asked me to speak about my favorite memory about my dad. He was really touched by it. My mom and sister-in-law spoke too. We chose the following songs: I believe in You by Don WIlliams and In Your Time and Like A rock by Bob Seger. My dad was not a religious man. At the beginning of my talk, I thanked everyone for coming and said that my dad would have loved the service. The crux of my talk: My dad and I worked at the same place for 7 1/2 years from March 1999 when I was hired until he left in Sept. 2006. I talked about how excited he was about me coming to work there. How he was there when I got the job. It's a part of my life that I won't forget.
My family and I were very pleased with the service the funeral home gave us.

| Kristi it sounds as though it went very well...and that you brought much to the service. Memorial services are melancholy, yet also great occasions for peace and healing. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |

| reply to simplykristi Glad to hear the service went so well for your family, Kristi. Went through that with both of my parents, and did the eulogy at my Mom's service. Tough to do, but if I had to do it over again, I'd do the exact same thing.
I'm glad that the service was so comforting to all of you. Excellent choices in music! |
