| 2 NYPD shot over subway fare - Is life that bad out there
»www.thestar.com/news/world/article/521814
"Police say the suspect, Raul Nunez, tried to enter a Queens subway station using a student Metrocard he wasn't authorized to use.
Nunez, who is originally from the Dominican Republic, reportedly told authorities he was afraid he would be deported if arrested. If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison on attempted murder charges."
How can you be that moronic, or is life in the Dominican that bad that you have to risk cop murders and life in a US prison.
All this over a subway fare for goodness sakes. Is this what humanity has come to ? -- It's all... part of the plan. |

| You know , don't fool yourself.
You and I might not want to live in prison, but you are fed 3 squares a day, have a bed, clean clothes etc...
Now compare that to live in potential squalor in the Dominican republic.
I'm not saying what he did was justified, but I understand where the guy is coming from. |

| reply to Stewy It is possible that he felt that life back in the DR for him would be that bad, that he would rather risk rotting in a US jail for the rest of his life than go back. The article has nothing in there about whether he faced any sort of criminal sanction back in the DR.
I feel sorry for the officers in this incident, they were just doing their jobs and then this happens. I know they agreed to assume the risk when they took the job, but it still doesn't make it right.

Actually, the NYS Supreme Court struck down the death penalty law a few years ago. There was talk of introducing a new law specifically for murder of law enforcement officials, but I don't believe it's made it through the legislature. -- I swear that I will faithfully and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen. |

| reply to Stewy Hmmm...I'd like to be living in the DR right about now.
So this piece of shit was carrying a gun and shot cops for no good reason, piss poor excuse aside.
Humanity itself should not take the blame here, this fellow had a choice and made a huge error in judgment.
Only 4 shots? God intervened on his behalf, without question because usually after shooting a cop and they chase you down you don't get a second chance.
And in the end, he'll get his wish...he will NEVER step foot outside a US gulag ever again.
I give him a few days...he'll be wishing he was back in the DR
WASH. RINSE. REPEAT. Yes, in some people's heads life is that bad. -- Fractional Reserve Banking, the method Private Banks have used to control 98% of the money supply since 1913. How to change that? Start with the Monetary reform Act and take OUR money back. |

They didn't shoot him enough times. Or better yet... you can gather up some vigilantes like yourself and go finish the job the cops didn't. |
