Actually, the NYS Supreme Court struck down the death penalty law a few years ago. There was talk of introducing a new law specifically for murder of law enforcement officials, but I don't believe it's made it through the legislature. -- I swear that I will faithfully and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.
