In reality, those "BIG BAD" Army Rangers were probably some of the best natured, most professional bunch o' guys we ever hauled/dropped.
They would sit strapped in with one hand on a "B" bag, head hung, and the other hand with a thumbs-up, and a (forced) grin on their faces, while we yanked and banked our way to the drop zone. "AIRBORNE"! 
They were usually pretty anxious to exit the plane at drop time.
