Re: Trying to regain the market share ... obviously necessary This service compliments HD TV. For example, in my living room is a nice 47" HD 1080P LCD TV. Currently it is being used to play an awesome PS3 game. Usually the DVR that is attached to the set would be useless during PS3 game time. Now it can be used to view saved content on any PC in the house.
This allows an unused DVR to be used, it allows a PS3 user to not take away the DVR from video users.
Various DVR's in our home have different types of content depending on who their primary users are. Now any user can watch content from any DVR on our LAN without having to control the set or be physically in the room where the DVR is. If someone is watching another program on the TV via DVR, another can watch a different program via PC on the same DVR.
This update allows greater utilization of our DirecTV DVR's, and makes it easier for users to see what they want, when they want, where they want.
