Google mail server down?

I cannot login my dslx e-mail account. It complained that server cannot be found. Anyone seeing the same issue?

Hi knightdark0,

I am not aware of any problems with webmail at this time. I would recommend deleting your temporary internet files and auto-complete files and trying again. If you would like me to take a look at the account that is having the issue send me a PM with your account info.

Thanks,

Re: Google mail server down?

Looks like it is just an issue that I cannot access it from my office. It works fine when I access the e-mail at home using DSL. So it is not an issue on the google mail server.

Same crap here. The port and/or mail.dslextreme.com is hosed. Gmail is working just fine.

mail.dslextreme.com is not longer active. To access your email via a mail client you need to update your settings to pop.gmail.com.

Thanks for the good answer.

It would be easier for DSLX to setup an alias or DNS record to resolve the issue for everybody.

That was our original plan which at a high level makes sense. Since mail.dslextreme.com isn't tied to the security certificates on the Google servers, every time a client hit send and receive, they would get a notice/error message. That was why the change was required. Thanks for the thought though.
