It's great, but get ready for the wife saying. " how do you use this?"
And the correct answer is "You don't I do."
The answer that keeps you alive is "Here dear let me show you" and "If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them" Over and Over and Over.

I got the same call yesterday about our programmable thermostat. She could propably do it, but she needs bifocals now to see the settings. It had to wait until I returned from the Cubs night game.

A POTENT COLD FRONT APPROACHING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER EARLY THIS MORNING WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA TODAY... BRINGING EVEN COLDER AIR INTO THE MIDWEST. A LARGE HIGH PRESSURE CENTER BUILDING OVER THE PLAINS STATES TODAY WILL THEN SHIFT EASTWARD TONIGHT... BRINGING CLEARING SKIES AND DIMINISHING WINDS. THIS COMBINATION WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO DROP WELL BELOW FREEZING BY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.
Yeah seems that way. Guess it's time to go cut everything back for the year. Overall it's been a pretty shitty year, weather-wise.

Same here, I sealed the driveway again this year ( prob ain't gonna do squat) and it had 2 days to dry. And I can see it whitening up from the water already, guess that money down the tubes.

On the bright side, a good hard freeze means the end of allergy season.

Fall was most of summer . It's a bit chilly considering the time of year. Dogs are happy with the weather!! First hook up of the year and I don't think they want it any warmer!

Did we even HAVE a summer? Seriously, I am checking under some rocks and behind the bushes and I am pretty sure we didn't. Not a single 90 degree day in July and a handful in august. Pretty depressing...

I haven't checked the farmer's forecast... do we know what's on tap for the winter? I always thought a mild summer (like we had) will mean a mild winter but it could be the other way around and given our weather, who knows?

I had a student ask me as we were getting ready to fly, "Does it get much colder than this in illinois?" It was mid 40s, light drizzle and windy so it was chilly, but not bad. When we got back inside, I showed him a picture from last year winter showing -17 and -31 windchill.

Not really. It was the worst summer I can remember. We had a nice run of good weather for a few weeks at the end. But that was too little too late IMO.
Wen out this morning and our vegi garden is totally wilted and I assume now dead. F'd up year weather-wise.

Not sure, don't see it down here.
But for a little bit this morning, I saw a weird blue cloud. It was very small and disappeared after a while, but still cool. A blue cloud... whodathunk.

I think I remember seeing it for a few weeks back in September. I think it's called the Sun or something, all I know is it felt good.
