Re: I lost 1 Mb/s and I want it back

Same here. We originally got 20.7 down and 4.6 up. A few months ago it deteriorated to 19.7 down and 4.6 up (20/5 service) There are other threads on DSL Reports about same experience. Seems to be something Verizon did. Not a significant impact but strange since many others seem to get 20-21+ down on 20/5 service.

Mines been about 19.5-19.6 since I got it in April. What pisses me off more is people on BPON are even getting better performance than my GPON.

Its something to do with the configuration of the ONT I think.

Are all you folks in an area that is new to video, or getting video service soon?
I'm in the same boat as the others here with the 98.xx ip and the slightly lower download speed / higher upload speed.
My CO (Floral Park) already had TV available to some areas, but they are expanding now that they have a franchise agreement with NYC. Why do you ask?

I saw the same thing too when I pulled a 96.xxx address. I previously had a 71.xxx address. Lost around 1Mb download but upload increased a few Mb too.

Mine did that too months ago and I used to get 20.7 mb down and 20.5 up and now its 19.7 down and about 22 mb to 24 mb up. I dont really care about the loss of a little download and I got a increase in upload but it would be nice to know why it changed with a simple IP change.

I am also on the 98.x.x.x and was on a 71.x.x.x

@verizon.net

For some reason, my speedtests are now coming up as 19.5 Mb/s instead of the usual 20.5 Mb/s. In the past, I could run the speedtest a thousand times and always get 20.5. Now for some reason, 19.5 is the norm. I realize that's nothing compared to what some of you are experiencing, but clearly something's changed here to cause the slowdown. It's happeing all of my PC's. I see that my ip address changed from someting like 72.xxx to 98.xxx. Could this be the reason? I'm in the philly area. Can anyone else check their's and report back? Thanks.
