Got the file upload working. MB tweaking the script for me.
I need to head to bed now. Thanks everyone and will be back tomorrow evening to hopefully finish getting fahtool running accurately. -- Team Helix -=- Forever Folding -=- current host of Foldy #6 |

- I realized I had an error in the batch file trigger and fixed that.
- MB is working on the script for me. We have some issues creating one of the files for upload. -- Team Helix -=- Forever Folding -=- current host of Foldy #6 |

| said by usa2k :MB and I have intermittently discussed the script too. I admire Steve's energy! (I've been trying to mostly research employment opportunities ...) Actually, a bit of sleep works wonders.
Fixed a bug that I could not figure out for the life of me last night, in about 10 mins this morning.
Also, fixed a few other errors that I made last night due to the *stupid* me factor.
Almost there folks, just a tweak (maybe) to file names. Should know fairly soon.
Once all is working as needed, I will post the .bat file again. Just in case anyone else needs it.
*I am much more observant after a few hours of sleep. |

Foldy Monitor ... isn't there yet and may require coding changes to the monitor itself. We will continue to work this one.
But, at least I can say that we have Foldy6 now online for monitoring!
(bet ya never thought that would happen sorto)

| Great work, all of you. I have to wonder why it is a new day with every foldy, never easy.
Until you started working on this, GarG, I hadn't noticed Jim changed the colors on his monitor. Very nice. Much easier on the eyes. -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

| There are several factors.
1. Two monitoring engines. 2. Differences in OS's. (*nix VS Windows) 3. Tools (software) used to create the script. There are literally hundreds of ways to accomplish the same thing. (Varying factors are above.) 4. Not everyone uses the same methods.
I was trying to come up with something that could be used in Windows. but is also backward compatible in *nix. A *nix user can usually look at the commands, and be able to tell what they do. In most cases (especially this one), they could more than likely find a better way to do it. I was trying to keep this one as simple as possible.
The issue comes in, as I was attempting to make just a single *-**-unitinfo.txt file that could be uploaded to both monitoring scripts. Remember, I noted my concern of combining the two together?
Anyway, we managed to get it a single file. But the way that it is formatted, F-T has no issues and F-M does.
I think this is why, but I am not sure just yet.

See the Fahusername and Teamid on the same line?
F-T doesn't care it's that way. F-M does care.
It works GREAT, if you just echo those entries in there as psuedo data. But that requires going back to two separate files, and defeats the purpose of the script checking that info is actually correct.
Still not sure why it is doing that. I think it is a combination of the tools that are being used VS it being done in a Windows environment.
In a *nix environment we would not have this issue. I just need to find the right combination of tools. I used to know how to do it. But it has been so long since I used the F-M engine, that I forget the exact combo.
I will post the script in a bit, and perhaps someone smarter that me can fix it. |

| Currently
Must be this order to get the team and ID on foldy.nozero.org (It will work for both sites that way.)
Before we would do twice the scripts for preparing the file. A little bit of pain to make the file compatible with both.

I will have it fixed in a jiffy.
I know, but I'ma not gonna admit it. |

| reply to Gargoyle Huh? What? Sorry, I must have fallen asleep.
You mean to tell me that it actually works now?
Sorry people. If I had any real talent, that would not have taken so long.
Thanks for being so patient, and putting up with me for so long.
Thanks, Jim, for pointing out the things that were right in front of my face that I couldn't see. And the nice piece of sed code.
I will add a few comment to the script and upload it. Most likely tomorrow sometime.
I don't think that the task is running every hour yet.
I can't help there, unless I get a chance to get my hands on a Vista install. Someone else may have to assist Gargles in debugging there. |

| Right click on Computer => Manage Let Vista proceed Select Task scheduler Create Task -- Give the task a name like "FP_Batch" Likely want "Run whether logged in or not" I set "Run with highest Privileges" I never clicked "Hidden" but it sounds like a good idea. (I get a cmd screen popping up every hour in the middle of what I am doing.)
On the Trigger Tab "Begin Task at Startup" "Repeat task every 1 hour Indefinitely" Check the "Enabled" box
On the Actions Tab "Start a program" List the batch file program.
Settings Tab Uncheck the "Stop the task if it runs longer than three days" (Likely not needed but I unchecked it.) Select (I think) "If task is already running - stop the existing instance"
The enabled checkbox may be the issue.
What I have a hard time doing, is re-reviewing a scheduled task Not sure how to re-tweak it? --
