I don't have Vista, but I will see if I can come up with an XP Pro tutorial. Should just be minor differences.
I looked around some more and can't figure this out.

So a tutorial for the "Windows impaired" (that would be me) is needed.

I am sure that the one hour setting is fine. I just always set mine to every three hours. Is up to you.

My vid. tutes are for XP, and seem to be taking a while to get posted.

Vista Task Scheduler is quite a bit diff. Many more options and tabs. At least in Ultimate. Not sure about Home or Premium.

I did find a screen shot, and fixed it up a bit. So, I do know that the settings are there somewhere.

I believe that you have to go the tasks properties, then look in the triggers(?) tab. Might have to click the advanced button to show those settings. I can't get my hands on a Vista install tonight to confirm, but perhaps tomorrow.

Edit: Corrected typos.

I am not quite sure what is up with YouTube tonight, but it doesn't seem to want to give access to the tutorials that I uploaded hours ago. So, I will try it this way.

This is the one for editing your Windows Path variable.

Naturally, your path will actually be a bit diff. than mine. But it should give you the general idea.

For XP, so if Vista is much diff. just let me know.

Should be able to see it, as long as you have the flash player installed.

I have been to this screen. But the pull down for "trigger repeat duration" doesn't have a 3 hour option. It's either 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 12 hrs or 1 day.

I will leave it a 1 hour.

"Screencast.com is currently unavailable." .... but I figured out how to edit the PATH from usa2k's screenshot.

I added the following to the end of the current PATH:

;C:\UnxUtils\usr\local\wbin

==> Is that what I was supposed to do?

Testing, testing ... 1, 2, 3 ... testing

Testing now.

Running the batch file in a cmd window.

Looks like all the files get copied correctly. All four 6-0x-unitinfo.txt and four F6-0x-FAHlog.txt and four F06-0x-FAHlog.txt copied into \fahtool

Replaced this text "user:PW" with the username and PW I got from usa2k in the batch file.

But getting this error msg ... 8 times per run ...

curl: (67) Access denied: 530

---
update:

I think I see the problem. The script is looking to FTP the files to /ftp.usa2k.com/f06/ ... but the FTP site and user/PW usa2k gave me is for /foldy.nozero.org/

I am going to try /foldy.nozero.org/

---
update:

Closer. Got one curl: (28) connection timeout ... but also got seven files copied. I think. Debugging further ... but I am going to stop now until I get clarity on which files should be going to which FTP sites/directories.

==> usa2k or MB please help me understand exactly where the files should to FTPed to. And that I have the right username/PW.

Thanks and I think I am close now. Just need that little bit of final guidance.

Any Op should be able to tell you where to FTP the files and, I think, verify username/PW, right?

Sorry - didn't see your IM till now.

I wanted wafen to experience the "egg hunt" with my tribe so we hid 42 eggs for them to find. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more.

Yes, the script that I posted for you was for the FAH-Tool site. Everything should have been correct, less the user:PW entries.

Basically, you have everything there needed to also create the files for the FoldyMonitor site as well. I did not include that, as it has been forever since I used it. I am not sure that I remember the format required by the FoldyMonitor scripting engine.

I do know that you can't upload the same unitinfo.txt files you are uploading to FAH-Tool, to FoldyMonitor. The format of the files is diff., and the one for F-T can't be read properly by F-M.

Thus, why I only did the script for the FAH-Tool site.

The stuff for F-M could be added to the same script, but I wonder if it would not be better to just have it as a separate one? Combining them as one, would make it more complicated. And would also be harder for someone to make all the changes needed.

I can do it either way. If you want me to, just let me know.

That doesn't look right. You should only have 12 16 files.

unitinfo1.txt
unitinfo2.txt
unitinfo3.txt .... I could actually have these deleted
unitinfo4.txt .... once they were not needed anymore.

6-01-unitinfo.txt .... These are for uploading to the
6-02-unitinfo.txt .... FAH-Tool site both sites.
6-03-unitinfo.txt .... They would need to be in the format
6-04-unitinfo.txt .... F6-01-unitinfo.txt for the F-M site.

and

F6-01-FAHlog.txt .... These can be uploaded to both
F6-02-FAHlog.txt .... F-T and F-M sites.
F6-03-FAHlog.txt .... //ftp.usa2k.com/f06/ for F-T foldy 6
F6-04-FAHlog.txt .... //ftp.foldy.nozero.org/data/drop_box/ I believe. Jim would have to confirm though.

TwoFrogs needs to add the F back in front of his 4-0x-FAHlog.txt files. Unless he just likes being listed first.

Not sure how you got the F06-0x-FAHlog.txt ones, but there should only be one set of FAHlog.txt files created.

Edit: this has changed a bit since the script has evolved slightly.

A think Gargles was talking about the uploads anyway, and I fix that goof in the script.

Have not read the whole thread yet ...
I see action on foldy.nozero.org and that is great.

Just need those pesky TAG: entries removed, and the script should do that.

fah-tool.org uses these same tags as one of several methods to identify the correct Work Unit.

NOW: Time to read through the thread.
