San Diego, CA | I think so. As for the Moto area well who knows. You could ask Bob Barlow. The non North County area uses the Cisco SDV solution which won't work on a Motorola headend. I think they might deploy another SDV solution. | |

| I do know that they are testing some new Motorola boxes in the Palm Desert area. Maybe they'll deploy the DCX boxes with the new J-Guide or whatever they call it. I just can't see them deploying Navigator for Motorola areas unless they can find a way to do so. | |

They made a new legal notice except it's all in 1 paragraph which makes it very hard to read. It's the same except you must now subscribe to the proper package in order to get VOD.

Smithsonian and Mav TV have already been added. Hopefully TWC can bring back the HDnet's but they seem disinterested. The list seems interesting but they could do better though. Don't know when KUSI HD will be added. Another interesting channel is a Padres mosaic service. Just an update on the HD channel situation in San Diego.

Time Warner Cable’s San Diego division agreements with programmers and broadcasters to carry their service and stations routinely expire from time to time. We are usually able to obtain renewals or extensions of such agreements, but in order to comply with applicable regulations, we must inform you when an agreement is about to expire. A free preview may be done of one or all of the HBO and Cinemax channels. In the event this does happen, customers will need to adjust their parental control settings if they do not wish to see the programming. Sundance Channel may be added to the Variety Pack on or about 12/09. On or about June 2009, On Demand channels will be available only if you subscribe to the corresponding package that contains the original network. Finally, we are currently involved in discussions regarding the services and/or stations listed below. | Wow... they are very cautious about all of that. I just wonder how may channels will be affected? We lost HDnet... what next? In any event, I am in ex-Adelphia territory and we are still using the Motorola boxes. So perhaps we will not see that many changes. | |

I think it makes sense to deploy the 3260 and the 3270 since they are much newer than the 3050 and the 3090. The 3260 is pretty nice but it has it's issues. Very sleek looking though bigger than the SA 4250HDC. It's slightly bigger than my SA 3250HD. Thats probably because it has the same mobo as the 3270 HD-DVR. The 3260 has no DVR capabilities though I did find a SATA port on the mobo. As for enabling it well I don't think thats possible.
I'll assume that the ex Adelphia area is going to get the Moto DCX boxes with some Java based i-Guide. | |

Ex Adelphia customers get FX HD. San Diego proper gets ESPN News HD. You can access ESPN News HD on 788. Ex Adelphia customers do infact get KUSI HD. Still no sign of XHDTV HD. | |

Yet another legal notice has been added for San Diego. San Diego legacy seems to be getting more HD channels while the adelphia area will get them when San Diego hits the 100 HD channel mark. More Hispanic and Asian channels are being added. Outdoor channel will be added eventually. With CTV and XHAS going to the digital basic tier this will add some more leeway for more HD channels. More VOD channels are also going to be added.

Please explain to me why the ex-Adelphia area (Carlsbad, etc.) will get them (HD channels) when San Diego hits the 100 HD channel mark? What has that to do with service here in Carlsbad?
As for the legal notice, there is a lot of local content listed there. I doubt that we will lose any. However, I would not be surprised after the HDnet fiasco. | |

| I'm just joking  . I have no idea when ex Adelphia gets them. San Diego has that SDV invention that somehow lets them magically add new HD channels. TWC ex Adelphia could move some analogs to digital so that they could have more HD. Some Moto areas use SA HDC boxes running ODN so they can work with SDV. The SDV solution that TWC San Diego uses isn't compatible with the Motorola ex Adelphia network. Only the Big Band SDV solution is compatible with both the Motorola and the SA network in San Diego. | |

As for channels, it's evident that moving to an On Demand format reduces the load on the network and that seems to be the wave of the future. However. TWC's reluctance to change our area means that we will always have less channels than SD. On the other hand, the SD market is much larger than here in the San Diego North/Coastal areas. | |
