That is if LTE could keep up with WiMax's evolution

By the time LTE launches, WiMax would be upgraded to 802.16m profile due to its much faster speed of development pace at WiMax camp. In other word, LTE's competitor is not the current 802.16e WiMax, but its successor 802.16m.

Good luck beating 802.16m in throughput with LTE.
