ROFLMAO @ "and why add 30 hd channels when you can only view / recored 2 at a time per home?" milk would be shooting out of my noise if i where drinking milk right as i read that. btw, are you a paid poster for the cable companies?
by the logic of that phrase, why bother ever having more channels that the number of tuners? so basically, 'my dvr can only allow me to watch/record 4 (or 2) channels at a time, why on earth would i ever need 100 channels?'

Im saying they should be doing more work on getting more per home then on more hd. HD is taking off and the max of 2 per home is becoming a big limit. I have a Direct tv HD and a HD DVR so 2 will be to little for me and I just have 2 hd tvs. People out there may 2-3+ tv's and If you have 2 HD tvs then can drv any hd while watching 2 shows at the same time.
Just wait for ATT to offer Direct Tv deals next year.

Somehow I'm guessing the AT&T lawyer-critters that secure programming agreements are not the same as the technical group working on compression improvements. No reason both can't be happening at the same time. AT&T has said they plan on 3HD in 1Q09. -- AT&T U-Hearse Your funeral. Delivered.
