poacher 1rtd :

Ferrari may quit Formula One
Ferrari might quit Formula One if the governing body, FIA, go ahead and introduce standardised engines to the sport.

The Italian team are the most successful in the history of F1. They are the only outfit to have taken part in every season since the world championship's inception, in 1950, and this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix will be the team's 776th such race. In that time they have scored 208 victories, nine Ferrari drivers have accumulated 15 world titles and Lewis Hamilton's title rival, Felipe Massa, is challenging to add to that tally.

Ferrari have a strong belief in their rich heritage. Although they support recent proposals to drive down the cost of competing in F1, they do not believe technology should be dumbed down to the extent that teams are obliged to use identical engines.

--
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety".
