free glasses 3D display ??

Hey everybody,
I am actually asking myself about a new 3D system which was recently exposed in a show.. but I missed it. Does anybody tried the free glasses 3D display?? launched by Wazabee It's a display that you plug on your computer and which allows you to play games in 3 dimensions "wild 3D" without the small red n green glasses hehe... Does anyone can tell me something about it ??

Thank you

Back in my day 3D glasses were hooked up with a dongle...and they worked at 60 Hz...and it wasn't even 3D...it was quasi 3D that made you wish it was just 2D...

Just saying .

i dont get why anyone would want this. its 3d, on a 2d surface. the only cool "3d" thing ive ever seen was the stupid 3d shows at theme parks with moving seats and whatnot.

then again those were films made specifically to fuck with the audience, real games would be boring to play in 3d. just seems unnecessary.

It's actually pretty cool novelty factor wise, I remember when using the glasses it was like you could peek inside the monitor and see what's going on.

Practicality wise though not sure if it's really worth it...

There's been other technology to make games 3d invlolving glasses and having special drivers. It is actually pretty cool. It adds a bit more immersion. I don't see how it can make a game boring.

I wish they'd stop with the 3d fake effect, and instead make projection screens with 3d capibilities, so that 3d images project 3d.

well im just saying, in regular games, there are no instances where i would say, OH SNAP, i wish this was in 3d because it would be so much better!

Games would have to be specifically designed from the ground up to be 3d, so it would have crazy scenes where ginormous dragonfly's fly out of the monitor at your face while you try to shoot them down with a gun. (which poses another question, how do you aim at something that is coming at you through the screen?)

This would take pre-planning throughout the whole game to make sure the proper elements were in the right spot to give you a realistic effect. The effect that they would have to use right now with just special 2d monitors, glasses or not, just seems like its even hard to call 3d.

I think a better experience would be to have 180 degree LCDS surrounding you, with 5.1 surround sound, so you have a huge POV, and could just look side to side when you hear something instead of using your mouse. Now imagine yourself playing that new zombie appocolypse game Left 4 Dead on a system like that...... *shivers*

driving games would be the shit too.

can anyone imagine a 3d driving game, using one of these monitors?

Anyways, just an opinion, and should be taken with a grain of salt since ive never seen one of these monitors. but the glasses i used on my computer sucked major balls.

They might be cool, but they're not $1147 USD cool. I realize you get a monitor with the system, a 19 wide screen monitor can be purchased cheaper and anything added shouldn't cost nearly that much.

I would never want this for any type of game to begin with. I hate those 3D movies where I have to shut my eyes because it feels like a needle is about to be poked in my head.

Not to mention, there is bound to be a drop in image quality on such a device.

I think some people over at AVSForums reviewed this (or a similar system) ... the gist was that it was cool but the effect wears off after a while since many shows / games aren't really built to take advantage of the effects.
