| the Fat Lady has Sung Stanaphone is going ByBy on Dec 1 just got an email from Stanaphone its to bad i have been using their free Faxing all this time
"After many years of providing valuable Internet telephony services to
customers worldwide, we have decided to discontinue the Stanaphone
service. We will be shutting down the Stanaphone service on December
1, 2008.
As of this notice, we are no longer accepting new Stanaphone credit
purchases. If you have a positive credit balance in your account, you
may continue using it to make and receive calls as usual between now
and December 1. If you have a positive credit balance remaining after
the service has been terminated on December 1, you can email customer
service (customerservice@stanaphone.com) at that time to request a
refund to your credit card.
We thank you for your loyalty and support.

Great. Not sure why I didn't get this email. I've been using Stanaphone since 2004 and never had a problem. Booooo.
Closest alternative? Anyone? And has anyone had any luck getting credit refunded?
