It's been delayed, I guess it's a trick.

An0nym0us

@acanac.net

is your assertion based only on the CBC story, or also on some other information?

They're putting on a good performance though. If I didn't know any better I'd say the CRTC was acting fairly but we all know what the outcome will be. That's OK though, Bell is sinking even the buy out can't fix that.

If they post anything at all, it will probably be at the end of the business day.

So far nothing.

Where abouts on the CRTC page does it say that they will be ruling on October 31? I can't find it mentioned anywhere.

It is noted that the Commission expects to issue a final determination by 31 October 2008 , which meets the service standard for a Type 2 Part VII application.
»www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Lette···808c.htm
I can't find any formal date mentioned.

filed

@mc.videotron.ca

approval from:
CanadianIron See Profile

So I filed a complaint with the CRTC:

I said this:

Hi,
This is in regards to the CAIP vs Bell filing found at »www.crtc.gc.ca/PartVII/eng/2008/···5153.htm, 2008-04-03 - #: 8622-C51-200805153 - Canadian Association of Internet Providers (CAIP) - Application requesting certain orders directing Bell Canada to cease and desist from throttling its wholesale ADSL Access Services

The CRTC said they would rule on the matter by October 31, 2008. So far there is no ruling on the CRTC website.

In addition to this, I came across a CBC news report that said the CRTC has delayed its Oct. 31st deadline. I do not see this date ammendment anywhere on the above mentioned CRTC website.

Per this Commission letter: »www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Lette···808c.htm

"It is noted that the Commission expects to issue a final determination by 31 October 2008 , which meets the service standard for a Type 2 Part VII application."

I would like to know when the CRTC plans on its ruling. What is the new date?

I would also like to see this new date and ammendment specified on the above mentioned website since many people are involved and following this and see zero reference from the Commission on this date ammendment/change.

Should changes not be addressed by the Commission? Or should the people just find out from an obscure CBC article?

This isn't right.

Thanks.

oh yeah

@mc.videotron.ca

oh yeah you can file a complaint also via:
»www.crtc.gc.ca/RapidsCCM/Register.asp?lang=E

I suggest you do it to get the point across to them that what they are pulling here isn't right.

My complaint:

As per file no 8622-C51-200805153
I find it higly disregardful and suspicious that the scheduled and alloted time was not respected and furthermore no notice of delay was posted.

The lack of rigorous follow-up on this matter doesn't do much to reassure the people (I for one) that the procedures are above board and done without improper prejudice.

That being said, where is the filing for the delay, where was or is it announced? And if it was not, who is accountable?

I await with high anticipation.
Edit: Got, confirmation it was recieved.

Why do I get the bad feeling that they (CRTC) will try to please both worlds?

They will either allow throttling and deny by usage charging, or they will disallow throttling and allow by usage charging.

Worst case scenario, they institute pay by usage and allow throttling, while banning all international audio/video sites that do not pay their fees. All this in anticipation of the copyright bill, that would be enforced with the help of the new rulings and DPI tech. ::shivers::

If the latter, time to submit my CV in every other country, and move asap. OR become a hobo living somewhere in the mountains far away from civilization.

Crtc has no intention of pleasing anyone other then big business and never had any intention otherwise.

Its just now gotten to the point where they aren't even really trying to hide this anymore.
Perfect example of this is how they didn't bother with any announcement about the delay and we had to find out from a third party.

So get that passport ready...lol.
