| [Maxis] Maxis Wired Broadband
Hey, it has been a long time since I logged into this forum.
Just wondering, who here has experience using Maxis wired broadband? The place I am moving to does not have streamyx service, it is all under Maxis, event the fixed line.
So was just wondering, any feedback about the service? better or worst then Streamyx?
I am not talking about the Maxis 3G wireless broadband service here. -- www.jiboneus.com now with it's own forum!!feel free to discuss any tech related or even non tech related. hehe sorry for the self promotion |

| From the few people that I know it seems their service is not that much better or improved than what Streamyx is providing. I saw one thread on configuring Maxis which you might find useful for your new place.

| reply to jibone Thanks,... but I'm getting the Maxis Wired Broadband, not Wireless
I guess not many people here are on Maxis Wired Broadband.
My research on the net finds something disturbing. Under Maxis t&c fair use policy:
"Each customers total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times."
Now that's sucks . -- jiboneus.com |

Cheers!!! |

| Heh, take the T&C to mean this: "if you exceed, we've got the right to take action".
So, you prolly wont see any action taken once you exceed the 3GB cap - for now.
So, we're all gonna see stuffs such as this posted on the forum: "Hey, I've exceeded what, nothing happens, laa."
Until enuf ppl starts jamming up their "narrowband". Then, the axe comes...
This is how things works in Msia, dude! Especially so from a "privately held company" who's currently "burning cash".
[rant] It's so sad that we've got to ask about the kind of ISP servicing an area before we go buy/rent a house. Internet connectivity is still regarded a luxury not a utility in this country. Suffer our children. [/rant]

| reply to jibone Agree with you on your rant, well we don't need to ask if the house has electricity or water now do we? Internet connectivity should be that way hehe.
Lets hope they don't even notice me going over the 3GB cap, and takes no actions. -- jiboneus.com |

| I'm not sure about it but I'm pretty convinced they would realize if you exceed your quota. Bandwidth is still a premium in this country and I'm sure they'll monitor it quite closely

At least Streamyx only has a clause on P2P stuff.. |
