When I was a teenager in the 80s MTV was the pinnacle of coolness--Yo MTV rap, Headbanger's ball, etc. Now, all MTV shows are just middle and upper class young adults fighting with each other and complaining.
I guess they had to put the music somewhere or be forced to change their name to the crybaby channel or something. |

| reply to badtrip Didn't help that most popular music went in the crapper in the late 90's/early 00's, what with Brittney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, and all of those other ones I've managed to purge from memory with a mixture of pot and alcohol. Anything that wasn't too offensive for television sucked. The decline was inevitable. |

When MTV started dumping music for the "x-generation" soaps, well, to be honest, when they started playing mostly hippity hop and rap, I deleted that channel from my line up (Yo.. mtv, you listening). The turned their backs on a generation who made them what they are so, I don't watch'em my kids don't watch'em. Thank god to youtube.. Oh, and VH1C |
