US cellular could take a few of the midwest markets. I've had them all, and they've been the most reliable in and around chi-town.
BTW...your joking about sprint right?....they've not only burned too many bridges for a comeback, they did it with a scorched earth policy!

| There are a few rural providers out there in the midwest which could/should work well. I hope they'd split the GSM/CDMA up on those that are sold.
GSM (Alltel had GSM too): Iowa Wireless, Viaero Wireless, Commnet.
CDMA - Whatever rural carrier is left
As mentioned before... who can get investment $$$ to purchase pieces of Alltel's network. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

| Your right about the cash for investment. Well maybe the govt can bailout the Wireless carrier businesses with billions so they too can make acquisitions and pay themselves collectively billions in bonuses -- "For duty and humanity!" - Moe Larry and Curly (MEN IN BLACK, 1934)...These are the guys we have in Congress |

I learned my lesson after working for 3M's Telecom Division. Hate the impersonal atmosphere of it all and the enormous waste of resources. If a company has a stock symbol, they won't get my resume. I left a company when they decided to go public. I'd do it again, too. Don't want any part of that anymore, and I am much happier because of this decision.
Profitability is one thing, growing is another. Too many times I see quality disappear as once great businesses feel compelled to spread out. Oftentimes this growth destroys the very ideals that made them excel in the first place. When a company is in business solely to grow, which many undoubtedly are, I keep my distance.
I'd rather create and sell a couple of paintings each week than have a press stamp out hundreds of them for a discount and maximum profits. To each his own, I suppose; but I know what makes me happy. |
