how important is contrast ratio when purchasing a Lcd?

anwgo153 Premium join:2002-04-08 Hillside, NJ clubs: 1 edit	how important is contrast ratio when purchasing a Lcd? for instance I'm looking @ the Samsung LN52A750 it has a 50,000:1 contrast ratio 120 hz big 4 me 4ms also important dlna and 4 hdmi inputs and then theres the Sharp Aquos LC52D85U which obviously is older but it has 5 hdmi inputs 4ms 120 hz and has a 10,000 :1 contrast ratio and it is 300 400 dollars cheaper so my question is I want a Lcd with 120 hz that's not too expensive but how important is contrast ratio when purchasing a Lcd? -- "Before I close my eyes I fantasize I'm living well, when I awake and realize Im just a prisoner In hell "..Tupac Shakur

Since there isn't a standardized way among all the different manufacturers to measure this, I wouldn't worry about it. same with refresh rate.
