I have this modem after my previous modem died, and it does not have a blocking function. Might as well deploy DNS-based blocking service like OpenDNS.

I do not think you need to go through so much hassle to put such filters in your hardware. There are numerous free software out there that can do the same and some browsers offers such features also.
