I can understand Verizon not wanting to heavily subsidize a phone with tri-band HSDPA because the user could then take that phone to AT&T or T-Mobile. But having WiFi turned off would make me go elsewhere or at the very least use a phone that has WiFi turned on. Oh please, Verizon has been known for crippling their phones for years. If they can't make money off a feature, they shut it off.
WiFi access takes away from overage charges they can make more money off of. |
