| Good afternoon,
I finally had to called Verizon to get assistance with accessing the modem. The password was password.
System Monitors did not lead to Advanced Monitors. However, just as System Monitors there is also an Advanced heading. Click Advanced, clicked through the prompt but there was no Transceiver stats. The only information under System Monitors is Modem Status which consists of the following.
Software Version: VER:4.04.03.00 Transceiver Revision: 7.2.3.0 Model Name: E90-610015-06 Serial Number: 07B403148780 Broadband Connection Status: UP Broadband IP Address: 96.224.35.21 Broadband MAC Address: 00:18:3a:3e:5f:bd Broadband Connection Type: PPP Active Status: 1 10:13:44 Configuration: 096-900130-03 A
The information under Advanced contains the following:
Diagnostics Restore Defaults Reboot Modem Users Turbo TCP Remote Administration ATM Loopback Detect WAN Configuration
DNS Server
Universal P&P
Configuration file
Firmware Upgrade
IP Address Distribution Private LAN Public LAN
The only place where there is a little DSL information is on the Main page under Modem Status:
Internet Status: Connected DSL link: Connected Speed (Down/Up): 1179 Kbits/sec by 447 Kbits/sec Connection Type: PPP Username: xxxxxxx
IP Address: xxxxxxx
Are those my connection speeds? None of the testers I used gave me those results.
Thank you all for your assistances,
Cora

| Hello Smith6612,
Again, thank you and everyone for your assistance and the information. I was especially waiting for your last post since I certainly was going to give Verizon a call regarding the discrepancy in speeds! (Just kidding.)

| You can get the upgrade. I don't know why they told you it was only for new customers, unless you were trying to negotiate a cheaper price then I'd see why they'd say that. I've been a Verizon DSL user for roughly 4 years and the upgrade went for me without an issue. I just had to convince the billing rep that the package I was asking for did exist in my area. |

| reply to lauraT lauraT, just call again. You'll get a different agent next time. I just asked them why I was still getting only 768k service when their website clearly showed that the slowest speed they currently offer is the 1024k service. The agent I spoke with upgraded my speed and managed to cut a few $$$ off of my bill each month. My modem was provisioned at the new speed while I was still on the phone with him.
Oh yeah, don't bother to mention the 1m-for-$17.99 deal, as it is indeed for new customers only. You want the speed first, then ask what they can do about your bill. They lowered my DSL bill AND my phone bill through some sort of bundle. |

| They can do anything they want, but the 1.5M is part of the 3M tier. If your line can't handle 3M, they drop you back to 1.5M. For now, if you want 1.5M, you have to pay the higher price for that tier, and if your line can handle it, then you get 3M. |

| reply to Smith6612 For what its worth,I just spent almost 1 hour on the phone and talked to 3 different people before I finally hit pay dirt. I was on 768/kbs and paying $29.95/month. I got my speed increased to 1mb/s and price dropped to $19.99/month. I checked my speed and it was increased almost immediately after getting off the phone. I guess I will have to wait for next month bill to see if I got the drop in dollars. Looks like I had a pretty good day. |

| reply to CUBS_FAN Yeah. But hey you can't complain really. However this one place I go to on a weekly basis, they have Verizon Business class and when Verizon got rid of the 768kbps plan, despite their old phone line which doesn't like DSL too much, and their long line length (Attenuation is 68.5dB), their line was boosted from 768kbps/128kbps to 1.5Mbps/384kbps for free, and somehow it is holding sync for days before static gets on the line and craps the DSL out. |

| reply to Smith6612 I had 768 for about 3 years now @ $22 a month. I called and told CSR that I heard that they were giving free upgrades to 1M. She sounded confused about the whole thing. She put me on hold and came back a minute later and told me she can give me 1m for $19.99. She told me it would switch over by 12 midnight. I haven't noticed any difference in speed. Is there anyway to tell from the modem? I have a Westell 327W |

Not sure of the exact sync rate, but it should be llxx/448.
*EDIT* Fixed the link as noted below. |

| Jodokast typo'd the link for the transceiver stats. They're found at »192.168.1.1/transtat.htm . The proper sync rate for the line under ADSL/G.DMT mode is 1184/448 which is what I have under G.DMT, and my margins sit right now at 23dB. ADSL2 and ADSL2+, expect it to be a little lower, such as 1181/447. |
