Why would customers drop down to Comcast's base tier of 768/384? -- Write me up a 125.......I Can't Drive 55 »redrocker.com/ »cabowabo.com/ |

Why would customers drop down to Comcast's base tier of 768/384? I would consider it, at the right price point. I'm probably one of the few around here who is equally speed- and price-sensitive. In my area, I have a choice of 56k (with a good tailwind) dialup, satellite (with its attendant price/performance issues), or Comcast. Verizon is not going to bring FiOS to me anytime soon, and doesn't appear sufficiently motivated to extend DSL to my area. I suspect there are many other folks similarly situated.
768/384 at about $20/month would scratch my itch just fine given my Internet usage patterns. It wouldn't be that much of a performance hit from my current 6/1 that's currently provisioned at 4/384 (ref my posts on the Comcast help forums). -- Son, there's only one thing you need to know: HEMI |
