Re: LTE vs WIMAX

Wimax is going to dominate 4G. Who wants to pay 80 bucks for a laptop card when you will be able to pay 50 bucks to clearwire for multiple devices. Since the merger was approved Wimax will be first to market and there will be nation wide network by the time the first LTE tower is up.
While I cant predict if Wimax will dominate, I definitely agree that it will be available in many markets nationwide before LTE is even rolled out. It will be up to the wireless operators to fully leverage that advantage however, so its unclear what will happen.

Since Sprint will be the force for Wimax, I have to doubt it will become dominant. Their track record is abysmal and somehow they will find a way to squander their early rollout advantage.
