Actually if you read my second post, you will see that I found a nice gigabyte mobo that I really like.

As far as sticking to Nvidia on the graphics card, my brother is actually the one who requested that. Maybe he is rather partial to Nvidia.....I don't know.

He will be using a 22" LCD monitor. I assume the resolution is 1680x1050.

As far as other usage for the system, I would guess allot of text. He mentioned watching DVD'S.

Yes, I see that, I was writing my post and posting it right when you posted the second post.

Gigabyte makes approximately 11 P45 mainboards, compare all of them for the right one, some have better cooling and better multi phase regulation.
