• I assume the d-link redirects (at random times) a fully valid browser request to their servers instead.
Big difference!
It is also a huge security hole. Imagine a crook could reverse engineer the firmware, post it on a legitimate looking site with a version number slightly higher that the d-link download, and inject it with redirections to malware sites. Some people would probably end up installing it. |
