Holy Cow Speed upgrade in northeast philly!!

I am in 19152 far northeast philly and have always tested around 18000/1600 but for the first time ever my speed test gave me 26314/3011

Now sometimes my download speed has gone upto 26000 or so but never has my upload been this fast!

I don't know what comcast did but i like it. I like it a lot!

I am using a Arris cable modem for both phone and internet.

I know up until this morning the Arris cable modem could not go faster then 1600k or so.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 26314 kbps (3289.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 3011 kbps (376.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

In before the lock. Another pointless topic.

»Something just happened in Chicago...

»[Speed] Higher upload PowerBoost? 64QAM? DOCSIS 2.0?

»Let's keep all DOCSIS 3.0 Discussion in this thread, please

List goes on. I could be here all day posting related topics.

Summary: Has been noticed by people since about a month and a half ago. Rumor around here is that these areas are getting ready to upgrade to the Docsis 3.0(no confirmation)

This is just your powerboost. No Upgrades there that I see.

Like I said I have never had over 3000 upload speed before. It was always around 1600 or so for the last 2 years or more.

So comcast did change something.

He is referring to the upgrade in speeds with powerboost. A lot of these areas where also upgraded in some way or changes where made. I gave a couple of links to those threads. I use to get about 2-3Mbps in powerboost upload and now I am getting up to 10Mbps on the 6/1Mbps tier as well as an increase in the down side. I know what he is talking about but like I already said, it has been discussed in various threads many times. There was no need for a new one.

Actually, I believe what the OP is noticing is that the Arris eMTA through the changes they are making is now performing more in line with the other modems - especially on the upload side.

Several others have also talked about this in another thread:
