said by PhoenixDown :Thank you for the feedback and additional recommendations. It sucks, I was going to wait for the i7 to come out and pick up the quad core when the rates dropped but my old rig died on me and I want to be up and running again this week. Addictions suck Intel Core i7 and X58 is now here:
»Intel Core i7 920 2.67GHz 1366 Quad-Core $299.99 in store »MSI X58 Platinum LGA 1366 Retail Motherboard $220.99
Not too bad on price IMO. |

all factory overclocked cards are a waste of money. buy a vanilla/plain 260 and save $50 and get 3% less performance, or overclock it yourself.
go with a simple P45 board and save $100: »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···13131299 or the 750i SLI FTW: »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···13188026 -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

| reply to PhoenixDown I honestly can't reccomend the 780i SLI. You can get the 750i SLI FTW for about $50 less - And it offers almost everything the 780i offers. The only thing different is that the 750i doesn't support SLI enabled memory, and the 3rd PCI-E slot. Both of the aforementioned features are worthless to 99% of the people out there anyways. It should be mentioned that the 750i SLI FTW overclocks much better, and does in fact offer 16x lanes on both pci-e slots in SLI mode. -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

| Wanted to get a second opinion before I went out and picked this up. The most intensive applications will be ripping DVD's (why I went with a quad core) and playing world of warcraft so this might be overkill in some ways. I would wait for the new intels to come out but my current pc is dead and I just dont want to wait.
