 Multi Function Printer

I am trying to find a multi function printer and I am wondering which one has the scan and faxing available through LAN (not only printing) ?
I have found a Brother MFC-8460N, but can not find anywhere the specs. for this function.
Thank you in advance.

I setup a MFC-8220N a couple of years back, I am assuming the 8220N is very similar to the 8460N.

From my recollection, you can printer and fax from your LAN PCs. For scan, you can only setup one PC that when you scan, it will be sent to a particular PC. I don't think you can start a scan from any PC.

I used to be indecisive, now I am not sure.

Thank you. I would love one that can scan to any computer that sees that printer. Need to keep looking I guess.

I have a HP PhotoSmart 6180 (forerunner to the current PS7280) and have no problem with these functions as a network printer. I have it wired to my router, since it is close by anyway, but it also has wireless networking. I have not tried it in wireless mode.

I have no problem accessing any of it's multi-function capabilities (including scanning/OCR or fax) through any of my computers that I have installed with the full driver set. This includes both XP and Vista notebooks.

P.S. I am not trying to "hype" this brand/model, just responding to the question. The HP 7280 is not an inexpensive multi-function ink jet, although the ink costs are pretty decent.

Sounds tempting, and I am almost at the point to order one. I am still weighing the options Thank you.
