More XP Services Information

The sites below (among others) provide information and recommended settings for Windows XP services. Try BlackViper first if you only have the patience to consult one site.

these tweaks are all old. some are outdated with SP2/SP3. for the most part, there's no need for any of the tweaks anyway. with C2D/C2Q's and geforce 8/HD3000 series cards (and older cards for sure) these tweaks do absolutely nothing. 2+ GB ram is enough for most new games and 4GB is very common now. most games dont fully use 2 or 4 cores so slimming down the services tab only frees up a few cycles per single core clock but with 2 or 4 cores and games only using 1-1.5 on average it's freeing up clock cycles that get left idle anyway...

bottom line: with dual-core, 2GB RAM, and semi-modern gfx card or better there's absolutely no need for any of these tweaks.
