the Roku is Netflix's flagship device that they push (though they themselves did not make it), because of the price and availability; don't be surprised if it gets more special treatment.

They called the HD quality of a Heroes episode "stunning" ...
Video quality was excellent on our end, with SD content looking terrifically watchable. A small perk -- but huge deal as far as we're concerned -- is the inclusion of a limited amount of HD content. We previewed Heroes in HD, and the quality was stunning. Right now there's only about 300 titles on offer, but we think after folks get a taste of this, they'll be begging for some expansion.
If the reports of the movie sizes at 4-6GB are correct, then the they'll stream at 4-8Mbps which is great quality for WMV9 VC-1 HD content. I do a LOT of video conversion to WMV9 VC-1 at those bitrates and it's gorgeous. | |
