That was one of my concerns also. When I arrived in the store I was shocked at home sturdy it really was. The shorter desk per the instructions/assembly guide says it can hold 200 pounds. The wider piece with the laptop can hold 180. No doubt you will be happy with it. REALLY sturdy!!!!! I even picked up that leather chair in the picture!!!! Regular price 299.00, sale price 199.00!!!! It is very comfy and plush.
