Turns out that Vudu uses P2P technology so that users distribute to other users. Depending on your bandwidth setting determines how fast you serve to others. The 4megabit setting serves up to 300kilobits, the 2 megabit setting 200kilobits, and the 1megabit setting serves at 100kilobits. I changed mine from 4mb to 1mb when im not using it so the bandwidth usage is a third of what it was. I would contact vudu directly and ask them if there's any reason you should be seeing 5 gigs/day.

The 1080P movie quality is great and the selection of movies is pretty good. One concern I have is the amount of bandwidth this thing gobbles. I understand the HD movies are over several gigs each but the box seems to be constantly updating its "catalog" to the tune of over 5 gigs a day without even watching movies. My provider Comcast only allows 250 gigabytes a month before they boot you from the network. Does anyone else have a Vudu box and noticed the high bandwidth it uses? I am wondering if it will always eat bandwidth like this?
