is that 100Mbps symmetrical? or is it 100Mbps down/ 512Kbps up?

It won't be symmetrical on cable.

Most cable companies don't seem to be channel bonding on the upstream when using DOCSIS 3. More of a configuration/capacity headache.

Upgrading all fiber nodes and amplifiers for more upstream mhz is expensive, not to mention knocking out analog CATV Ready channels 1-6 by converting them to upstream.

Upstream D3 is not standardized yet

the death of analog cable is coming, cable is the only pay TV service that doesnt require STBs for every set.

No, it definitely won't be symmetrical. To me, though, 100Mbps down/10Mbps up sounds more realistic than 100Mbps down/512Kbps up.
