I have 1.5/384 and now that it is entry level, could I ask to pay entry level price instead of what I am paying now? You should, give them a call and state your rationale for the request, the worst that could happen is that they may tell you to wait a month or two, it would be irrational if you were to be told that what you pay for the service now is what you will continue to pay in the future.
I'm not that far from the CO and Verizon has never been able to get DSL to work at my place at all, the last time that a tech was sent to hook up my next door neighbor earlier this year they couldn't get it to work either, the guy said that even though the sales people said that the service is available at our location, the lines physical distance was beyond the range needed for minimum requirements, I wanted it as a back up, no such luck.
