Just a con job

I lvoe how people on powerboost post speedtest results like that actually get those speeds 24/7. In fact whose to say if you're on say 16 mbps you're not getting 8 Mbps most of the time? Since the speedtest results will always be inflated. I hope Charter never stoops to using this crap. If I'm paying for 10 Mbps I like to know I'm actually get 10 Mbps and not 5 Mbps.

PowerBoost does have it's use - kills off the first 40MB of a download pretty quick - I like it!

As for sustained, I'm on the 16/2 Blast from Comcast... this is what I get - sustained.

Does ok.

And we have a winner!

"PowerBoost" ensures speed tests are well and consistently inflated. It should help web apps and browser plugin downloading too though.

For proper 'downloading' I don't think its very useful.

Powerboost is volume based, not time based. The boost window is designed around 99%+ of user downloads. Since 99%+ of all downloads are inside the PowerBoost window it provides a noticeable speed increase for the vast majority of users' experience.

There is also no reason why the boost window won't increase over time. I think there is a long history of speed increases which prove this.

The reality is, you cannot please all of the people, all of the time. But 99%+ is pretty good
