I was told if I use a email program to get my mail the ads won't show. Problem is I don't know which program to select, which is the safest to use. Thunderbird, Vista Windows Mail, Opera. there are so many. Are any of you using a email program now since they added all the ads? If so I would love to know which are the most secure. I am fed up with all the ads on my rogers yahoo mail. |

| reply to sbrook sbrook, one question if I may? I have been using Rogers yahoo mail for so long that I have forgotten the pop3 and SMTP. Do you know if this is correct or if there is a new one?

| reply to kliles As I said before, I cancelled my cell phone service in protest.
Next week I get my new dish so after over 25 years I will no longer be using Rogers cable for TV.
Now all I need is to find a new internet provider and my move away from Rogers will be complete.
I pay Yahoo for mail plus now and I have unlinked my rogers account. The only reason I was paying the higher cable fees was because I loved having Yahoo for free. This is now gone and I can keep my Yahoo mail plus when I change providers. All in all that is probably a better idea anyways because I no longer like the idea of being bound to any one provider. They are all greedy and from here on I am going to support the smaller companies instead. |

Just like 2% of the users are ruining it for everyone, so lets throttle everyone and put on caps. |

| reply to Heresy Thats what I did,
Yahoo has a feature that migrates all your contacts and emails.
I migrated all 5 of my families rogers accounts over to yahoo.
The second I find a reasonable broadband supplier I am gone from rogers. Now that my email is no longer dependent on them I can take advantage of all the free offers of the first few months at reduced rates.
Technically I can move every few months now whenever one of the services tries to wooo a new client. No commitments from me anymore, I will go to whoever is the cheapest and as soon as I find a a few months cheaper I will move again.
Hear that rogers? you have to work to try and earn my business now, no more free ride. |

| reply to kliles So it looks like Rogers/Yahoo is monitoring this thread and selectively removing all evidence of them offering Rogers Yahoo Email *Plus* to customers. However, there are STILL several pages out there where they are actively promoting an ad free email environment.
I have found another page on an official Rogers Yahoo! site that offers (in a promotional sign-up site) an ad-free email environment to all Lite and above tiers.
Ad-Free Email We've removed all graphical advertisements from the Rogers Yahoo! Mail pages, allowing you to do what you need to do without distractions.
Ha!!! Am I going to make it easy for them by posting the URLs like I posted the URL that they corrected earlier? Nope.
I'll let individual people get lured in by the false promises, then get upset and have a really negative experience with Rogers that will potentially permanently impact their bottom line when those customers cancel their services.
Shame on you Rogers. I've already cancelled premium TV services in retaliation to these ads. I hope they are worth the extra $20 a month you are losing from me.
