 Top Wii Games?

Hello all,

I just won a Wii in a raffle and I'm curious as to what good games there are for it? I have a 360, so I am more interested in Wii exclusives, especially any of the remade classics.

I hear the new Mario Kart is pretty fun. Are there any other good Mario games? What about games the girlfriend would like?

I'd take the time to insult your intelligence, but you probably wouldn't get it.

Thanks, but I'm looking for the opinion of the people here. I've read most of those.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl is good, Zelda is also nice. My kids still enjoy the Gamecube's Luigi Mansion which plays nicely on the Wii. Wii Fit is also fun, but more for women and kids IMO.

The Wii has more of a family / kid friendly library of games. Note you can play any Gamecube game on the Wii (you will need Gamecube controllers).

I was thinking of picking up Zelda. I ALMOST bought a Wii when they were released for it.

Super Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario. Other than that I have no other recommendations. Zelda got boring for me . You are lucky you won it in a raffle. To me it wasn't worth the money.

Yeah, the more I research it I've decided that I won't get much use out of it since I have a 360. I'm searching for a needy family to donate it to now.

It's just funny because I always get sucked into the next gen of Nintendo. Since the SNES the quality of games just keep going downhill. N64 was alright but the Gamecube just sucked. The Wii in my opinion is a little better than the Gamecube just because of the Wiimote , but I enjoyed Mario Galaxy a lot, so it gets a little help there.

There are definitely a few games I want to play, but I don't even play my 360 all that often, so I just think a needy family would get more use out of it than I would.

i really liked:

mario galaxy
super paper mario
metriod prime 3
zelda: twilight princess
excite truck

just off the top of my head. i have a good amount of wii games and those are probably my favorites.

though i probably play wii sports more than the rest for some light cardio workout. the boxing can really wear you out.

Smash Bros. Brawl is practically required playing for anyone with a Wii, but you'll want to get a GameCube controller to play it proper. Yes it does support the Wiimote and mote+chuk combo, but serious players will opt for the classic controller or GC controller way of playing the game.

No More Heroes is fantastic, and a proper mature game for the Wii. While it has its flaws, you'll want to get it anyway because you'll not experience anything quite like this on any platform.

And thankfully, the Wii does enjoy full BC of GameCube games, so you may want to consider picking up some on the cheap to play those too, but then you'll definitely need a GC memory card and controller.

You may also want to get some Wii Points (buying them directly or getting a prepaid card) and look up some of the games on the Shop Channel. Mega Man 9 is an easy recommend from me, but it is meant for hardcore play. You could also use the Nintendo channel and query for further recommendations on there too.

Metriod Prime 3 is my recommendation. Evil Dead is good too, but play it first if you get it because Metriod Prime is the way a FPS should be.

Good plan donating it to a family that really wants it because I found as I moved from the n64 (I was around 10-13) to the game cube I matured as a gamer I was so disappointed in the game cube (I had it when it was released) that I went for the xbox and haven't looked back.

but its not really fair to judge nintendo based on the gamecube...even as a fan of nintendo i think the gamecube was pretty bad, especially as a followup to the N64...
