My experience would beg to differ as that's exactly what my company does and it's been working just fine for quite a while now. It's not the technology that is the problem, it's how it's planned and implemented that makes the difference. Throwing a bunch of wi-fi routers up on poles in repeater mode is what nearly everyone does and that's the problem.
