MSCONFIG -- Raid Event MonitorIn my MSCONFIG start up items, I have the listing Raid Event Monitor checked. I have a p-35 ds3r mobo and am running the HD with SATA and use AHCI. I do not have a raid array setup. Do I need to have Raid Event Monitor checked? |

I wouldn't think it is needed. My guess is your MB supports RAID and you don't have it disabled in the BIOS. So even though you aren't using RAID, since it is likely enabled, Windows sees the hardware and is installing drivers and software to support it.
It's always a good idea to disable all hardware not used in the BIOS, such as parallel ports, serial ports, etc. All hardware not disabled uses system resources. |
