When I installed COD 5, the first thing I did was figure out the new hiding place for the profile so I could make updated copies from time to time.
It sure starts you back at ground zero if you nuke your profile folder. |

As a test, I just deleted my profile, and started a round, and all my guns and perks were gone. I stuck my backup copy in place, and everything was restored.
